Audrey Hepburn was one of Hollywood’s strongest screen legends. She was a star ๐through and through; an actress, model, a style influencer, a dancer ๐, humanitarian and motivated and still motivates a lot of people around the world.
I was born the same year Audrey Hepburn died and I didn’t really know her like most fans who were born at the time her career was at its peak, and I have not seen any of her movies (something I really hope to do someday). However, it’s amazing to discover that those who knew her in person, on TV or through her influence on fashion, lifestyle and more, still refer to her fondly as elegant, poised, charming, graceful and simple, beautiful characteristics I too have learned trying to know more about her.
During Audrey’s lifetime and career, the Hollywood beauty had certain recognized signature fashion items which at times became her fashion never-do-withouts: pairs of dark sunglass, scarves, pearls, iconic hats, long evening gloves, pumps, LBDs, fringe and her undying love for Givenchy.
And here we will take you through four of these.
~ Audrey Hepburn’s Hat Appeal
While learning about Audrey, I discovered the stunning portraits of her in hats. Audrey was certainly a hats lover and had hats of different shapes and sizes, a fashion style that greatly complemented her facial looks. There were pink hats, brown hats, black hats ๐ , hats with lots and lots of flowers ๐. And she looked sweet wearing them.
~ Audrey’s Pumps
Like a true stylist, Audrey made her fashion her own. She perfectly owned simplicity and comfort in stylish pumps, rocking each comfortable pair one at a time in frocks, gowns, shorts, skirts and trousers. ‘Beauty is pain’, I don’t think that was the case for her.ย
~ Audrey’s Little Black Dress
Little black dresses are fashion’s must-have. Made even more famous by Audrey Hepburn in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, she showed what that black dress could do to a woman’s body. ENHANCE, EMPHASIZE and with pearls, you are set!
~ Audrey’s Pearls
Fabulous and elegant says each pearl on Audrey Hepburn. Whether it was necklaces or earrings, the smooth rounded beads were part of her ensemble and she was as rare and true as they were. Her pearl necklace in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’ was her most famous; strands of clear, beautiful pearls running routine her neck and gracefully coming down her back.
