A 41 dress exhibition titled “Je Suis Couturier” was opened Sunday, 21th January 2018 to show the designs and works of Azzedine Alaïa, the late Tunisian born couturier and shoe designer.
A collection of Azzedine’s famous works were opened at the event and is being shown in his honor at Azzedine Alaïa’s Marais Headquarters in Paris.
Some of the fashion maverick’s famous and timeless gowns which are on display in the 41 dress exhibition include a studded one shoulder white dress with ruched details at the waist and metal eyelets, a stunning white sheath dress with a train and a hood and according to Vogue writer, Tina Issac-Gozie ‘a dress inspired by the Matisse room at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, which Alaïa created for his retrospective in 2013’.
The exhibition is not just to honor Azzedine but also to inspire young and upcoming designers and couturiers.
