2018 Lookbook: Marobuk

I recently read a post by Vogue’s Lynn Yaeger titled ‘Introducing Fashion’s Freakishly Cool New Trend: The Frankenstein Dress’, and this collection by Nigerian based fashion brand Marobuk sort of calls it to mind; cool, yes, freakish, not exactly.

The cut up and combine method of placing entirely different fabrics together as can be seen in this collection (the warrior inspired ensemble of Ankara and leather mix) fits the Frankenstein dress description.

Marorbuk is therefore right on trend with this collection with the denim and Ankara mix, leather and Ankara fabrics and I like how they are subtly applied without being outlandish.

The collection of ready to wear pieces is simple and stylish, well constructed and finished, with unique design details.
The collection includes dresses, jumpsuits, jackets, skirts and blouses, and was modeled by Nollywood actress, Bridget Chigbufue.
