Balmain is taking the lead in virtual reality models with a recent release of three Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) models to join the fashion brand’s long list of Balmain army.
The three all-female models represent a diverse mix of people. Shudu, Margot and Zhi will model the brand’s coming fall clothing campaign along with other members of the Balmain army, which includes Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner.
To announce the three new models, Balmain in a Twitter post stated that “the virtual troops reflect the same beautiful diverse mix, strong confidence and eagerness to explore new worlds” of Balmain.
Margot and Zhi were created exclusively for the new virtual campaign by Balmain, Shudu has however had a controversial history. Created by British Photographer, Cameron-James Wilson, Shudu a dark skinned Fenty Beauty model faced opposition as people feared the CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) model will replace real life models in modeling positions.
