The Banker is based on a true story of African-American entrepreneurs who recruit a working class white man and train him to pose as their employer in order to circumvent the racial restrictions against colored business owners. The movie shows how these two men Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris went on to become very successful, business savvy entrepreneurs.
