Christie Brown’s Spring/Summer 2020 Collection was showcased as a virtual fashion show, a first for the Ghanaian women’s wear brand.
Introduced by the brand’s director Aisha Ayensu, the virtual show showcased about 24 pieces comprising evening and office wears. Handmade batiks, wax prints, tie dye fabrics give the collection its uniqueness. The collection is inspired by the brand’s desire to remain true as an example of resilience, pride, heritage and identity.
The first look is a silver wrap dress with a long front slit and bat wings. Look 5, a white long dress with structured neckline, ruched sleeves with ribbed waistline. The collection is exactly what Aisha said it would be “a menu of the different elements that make [the African woman]”.
